Virtual Appliance - installing fonts
It is probably worth installing Microsoft's Core Fonts - at least to get Comic Sans (if you don't care about that one, try RedHat?'s Liberation Fonts).
To get the Core Fonts, do: sudo apt-get install msttcorefonts
For more information on how docx4all handles fonts, please see /trac/docx4all/wiki/FontHandling.
A key point is that Microsoft's ClearType? collection fonts aren't readily available for use within this appliance - but docx4all will use them if they happen to be embedded in the docx.
Msttcorefonts and defoma
You'll see a message which says "Msttcorefonts uses the DEbian FOnt MAnager (defoma). If you wish to use the fonts provided by this package under the X Window System, you must configure it to use defoma fonts. The easiest way to do so is to use the x-ttcidfont-conf package. For more information, install the x-ttcidfont-conf package and consult its documentation under /usr/share/doc/x-ttcidfont-conf. "
You can do that if you like, but it won't make much difference to docx4all.
